Bolder Boulder

How many are planning on running? I will be signing up either today or tomorrow. I'm probably the only one without a qualifying race time but thought I'd share this tip if you have kids running this year. The BB Racers club (formerly the middle school challenge) deadline is Fri, and if you register your kids thru the link on the site, you save $13 K-8th grade runners. Does anyone want to have our kids run together? Are there any dads who would be willing to go with kids so us SERIOUS runners can run our hearts out?

  1. I'm signed up. Jen is going to sign up too! Anyone else? I think you can go and run on a treadmill for a mile or so and get a qualifying time if you want. I just used my time from last year. I wish my kids would run it. They are too lazy though! Maybe next year!

  3. Need a qualifying time?

Only the top 32 waves at the 2010 DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER require proof of qualification. Here are the options for proof:

Option #1: Use your time from the 2009 DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER. Anything below 1:08:00 gets you in a qualified wave.

Option #2: Use your time from one of our BolderBOULDER Race Series events:

Sombrero Ranch Roundup- 4.5 mile challenging trail run in Estes Park on Sept. 12, 2009. It's so hard that you can use your 4.5 mile time as a 10K time for qualifying!
ColderBOLDER- 5K invitational race based on 2009 BolderBOULDER times on the CU campus on December 6, 2009.
DICK'S Sporting Goods Flat Out 5K- qualifying race on the Zip Path at FlatIron Crossing Mall on May 15, 2010.

Option #3: Any other race between 2 miles and a marathon completed since May 25, 2009 can be used as a qualifying race. Visit www.active.com to find the right race for you. If your qualifying race is not included list of qualifying times (listed in a drop down on our online registration) you can email us your results. Include your FULL NAME and AGE, and the DATE AND DISTANCE of the race in the email. Also include the Packet Delivery Location you chose. This helps locate your entry more quickly as entries are processed in batches based on delivery location.

Option #4: Hop on a treadmill at our BolderBOULDER store which will open on April 11, 2010 and run two miles at a 1% grade (to compensate for wind resistance) for your qualifying time. At $5 it's the cheapest and easiest way to qualify.
