Utah to LA Flight Information

Not sure if the Utah gals have bought their tickets yet but here is my flight information and what it cost me...not as cheap as the Denver tickets for sure. I bought Southwest tickets. I leave SLC at 11:25 on Thursday morning on flight #910 and arrive at LAX at 1:20 p.m. It stops once in Vegas (no plane change). Going home from San Diego I leave on Flight # 1866 at 6:05 p.m. with one plane change and layover in Phoenix. Arriving home in SLC at 10:50 p.m. My grand total was $265-ish.

Training is going AWESOME. Pneumonia in October set me back 2 months and I had to start all over again after Christmas but now I am up to 35 minute straight running and then some 1 minute walking intervals combined with 5 minute running for the rest. Watching the heart rate and the breathing as my HR gets super high if I don't. Considering I am a total beginner and 35 pounds overweight, I think I am on the right track. The day I started back after Christmas I could only run 5 minutes straight without passing out. In one month I am up to 35 minutes now. I am almost always on my treadmill as the inversion is dangerous to run outside and my lungs refuse the cold weather and I can't breathe. I am looking to start adding some runs at an indoor track soon.

See you all in April!

I NEVER want to run the Ragnar Las Vegas

The scenery looks painfully boring.  But this video is cool!

Group Run on Saturday

Hi Everyone!
Let's do a group run this Saturday. The boys have basketball at 7:30am, so what if we do 9:30am at the Coal Creek Trail? That way it will be a little warmer. I realize this cuts into Lifetime Yoga....sorry.

I am going to do 8 miles, and of course, would love 1 or 2 or 10 of you to join me, but let's set the range from 3-8 miles. In the comment section below, please tell us if you are coming (so we don't leave anyone) and how many miles you want to run. That way everyone can find a buddy.

Who's in?

Ragnar Kickoff party!

We had a GREAT time at our party last Friday, and we missed all our teammates who weren't there. I so wish I would have taken more pics! We were entertained by Tara and Jamie's glow stick dance to "Eye of the Tiger" (Rusty swears that Jamie and I were separated at birth), and wowed by April's knowledge of the Race Bible in our game of Jeopardy. She won a reflective vest! We resurrected the BGP's (although Rusty told me that this year they looked like Big Granny Panties--jerk) and also enjoyed lots of yummy food. I'm gonna try to post a little video of our dance--it's not great, but hopefully it will make you smile.

As we made leg assignments, we presented each runner with a glowing medal that had their runner #. Mine glowed for about 5 days!

And just for kicks--Here is Blake practicing our dance with us. It's only 40 seconds, and it's pretty funny to watch him mimic our moves. Watch him strike a pose right at the very end. He's a dancer in the making!

Training plan and random Saturday Training run?

Hey Ladies, I just came across these website for another relay and I think I am going to follow the intermediate plan if I can. In any case I think that they might be a good source to tailor from for your own running situation (time, level, etc). Just thought I would share it in case anyone was like me and didn't have anything specifically to guide them through training.

Also, I was going to hit the Coal Creek Trail in Lafayette maybe on Saturday for my long run ( am not really fast - 10 minute ish mile with a few adjustments to the shoes as a cover for catching my breath..lol!). I was going to shoot for 6-7 miles (maybe more??) but I am up for whatever if anyone else wants to come along. If I go, it will be pretty early (6-7am). Just shoot me an email /facebook or post here if anyone is interested in coming along - you can bring your ipod too...I won't be offended at all....haha..you don't have to talk to me the whole time ;).

Have a great week!
